Hearts Rules
- Hearts is a game that is play with four people.
- Each player is dealt 13 cards.
- You then pass three cards to the right, left, across or not at all.
The way you decide what the pass is you start the first hand by passing
to the right then you just follow order.
- The object of the game is to take as few points as possible.
- The way you take points is by taking tricks that include the Queen
of Spades or any Heart. Each heart counts as 1 point and the queen of
spades counts as 13.
- You take tricks by playing the highest card in the suit that is led
in that round.
- For instance if a 3 of Clubs is led and you play and ace of Clubs,
you would get the trick.
- Each trick is led by the person who took the last trick then the order
of play goes clock-wise.
- The first hand is led with the 2 of clubs.
- You must follow suit. If you cannot then you may play what ever you
like, EXEPT on the first hand you cannot play a card that is worth any
points.
- You cannot lead with hearts until they have been broken or you have
nothing else to lead.
- There is one additional rule that is you may "shoot the moon"
which means that you take all 26 points. This does not give you 26 point
but instead gives everyone else 26 points and you 0.
- The game ends when someone hits 100 then the person with the lowest
score wins.
